And since you wouldn't expect them to live much more than 100, that limits the amount of time they can stretch this on for. But it's still quite a while really, it gives them a good 50 years to keep this thing going. Just think about that! J-dubs out preaching door to door in 2060! It'll be almost 200 years since C.T. Russell started this damn thing by then

  the new light on the generation gives us even further reason not to watch star trek re-runs.. the title "star trek - the next generation" misleads people about the real meaning of what is meant by a "generation".. evidently the lives of starfleet officers who served aboard uss enterprise ncc-1701 would overlap with those who served aboard the uss enterprise ncc-1701-d. since spock and mccoy's life overlapped with picard's, they were contemporaries, and thus of the same generation.. if the producers of the show were truly sincere in advocating the truth, they would have titled the show "star trek - the contemporary overlapping generation continued".. my dear brothers and sisters: let us be resolved never to be deceived the by the deceptive entertainment of this world!.

  they have stopped by our house multiple times (we have been gone or just ignored their knocks) multiple phone messages requesting it is urgent that i call them back .

  (screened all calls lately ).

  today the phone rings and i tell my husband screw it i am answering and putting an end to this .. the elder on the other line is not the one that has been stopping by ,but rather my husbands ex-nephew through marriage .

  i looked around as this explanation was being offered up, and the looks on the faces of people there was mostly disinterest.

  i come from a small crappy country in northern europe.

  im sad to say that among the resident 'vocal' ex-jws there is a good deal who have had visits from god (thats a bad sign in my book), who think satanists run the watchtower, who think there are 'hidden codes' in the images in the wt, who believe the meps system can translate between all kinds of languages and this somehow feed to a conspiracy theory, who think accusations of pedophelia and painting all jw elders as borderline pedophiles (or at least some who hide pedophelia) is remotely close to the truth.

  many of them seem to belong to small cultish religious organizations.

  One or two of the ex-dubs on this message board are borderline loony tunes, the kind of people that are attracted to cults are not going to just suddenly become normal on leaving a cult. As for born ins, not surprisingly many of them have had very strange upbringings & have grown up to become confused & angry people. Many of them are being shunned by family & friends, quite a few have been sexually abused in the past, & most feel that they have wasted much of their lives in the cult & have missed out on a lot of opportunities in life, they are rightfully bitter about it. Also, many of those who leave feel regret for recruiting others into the cult & are desperately trying to get them out, often in vain.

  In one of their wonderful, illustrated, 192 page masterpieces, they made the claim that since certain acts, such as oral sex & anal sex, are commonly carried out by homosexuals, it would therefore would be wrong for heterosexuals to engage in those acts since they would be imitating homosexuals.

  It's a pretty straightforward fallacy of equivocaton. Homosexuality is condemned in the bible, homosexuals have oral sex & anal sex, therefore oral sex & anal sex are wrong.
